The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring operational management of logistical providers and internal staff (e.g., warehouse staff, drivers). The role aligns with safety policies and specifications to support efficient material and equipment storage and flow, thereby supporting OpCo’s production, warehousing, and distribution objectives.
This position primarily provides administrative support and executes warehousing functions or outbound logistics, or a combination of both. The focus of the role depends on the size and structure of the logistics or warehousing department. In larger operations, the role may be specialized (e.g., stock control, transport planning), while in smaller OpCos, the role may be more generalist, including goods control, distribution, and possibly forklift operation.
Job Responsibilities:
* Inventory Management & Stock Control: Reorders materials, registers stock in systems, monitors supplier performance, manages materials and equipment to ensure availability and identify bottlenecks.
* Inbound Goods & Storage: Coordinates intake, checks quantities and damages, organizes unloading and storage, ensures proper labeling and storage location, and verifies quality conformance.
* Order Handling: Processes customer orders, checks, packs, and distributes materials to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
* Outbound Goods & Transport Planning: Prepares goods for transport, including dispatch documentation, supports routing and scheduling, and arranges transportation.
* Systems & Administration: Manages logistics data entry, registration, and reporting, ensuring compliance with standards for quality and accuracy.
* Customer Satisfaction: Manages customer relationships, handles requests appropriately, and maintains positive feedback.
* Continuous Improvement: Evaluates and improves logistics processes, tools, and systems for optimization.
* Compliance: Ensures adherence to safety, quality, health, and risk regulations.
* Other Duties: Performs additional warehouse/logistics support and administrative tasks, including special projects.
