This position is for Hotelbeds, a technology company in the travel sector with a highly transactional platform handling 7 billion requests per day with sub-second response times. The platform is 100% cloud-based, operating in a multi-regional setup on AWS, ensuring scalability, resilience, and global reach. The role is part of the IT Development team, currently composed of nearly 300 multidisciplinary professionals with deep expertise in both backend and frontend technologies.
We are looking for a highly experienced Engineer Lead with a strong background in full stack development, microservices architecture, and scalable enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in both backend and frontend technologies, along with a proven track record of delivering mission-critical applications in agile environments.
Experience in writing decoupled, testable code and working with automated test suites is expected.
Familiarity with code quality metrics—such as technical debt analysis and code coverage—is highly desirable. This role offers significant visibility across the organization and with stakeholders, and provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and impact.

Performing coding assignments.

Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments.
Guarantee that the continuous improvement culture is adopted on the team.
Will lead independently more than one train to deliver a small-large sized epics.
Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in computer programming or similar field.
Business domain knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Leadership capabilities with experience in team coaching.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Acting as a technological referent, sharing knowledge and experiences with the team/s and outside the company, participating actively in technological communities/events.
Tools & Technologies
Native, hybrid or progressive web apps.
Basic design principles, including UI & UX design, prototypes and scalability. HTML & CSS.
High knowledge of Java 11+.
Experience with developing RESTful web APIs.
Has the ability to work independently in a project, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English & Spanish).
Familiarity developing Microservices Architectures with Springboot applications.
Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (including Aurora) or Oracle..
Understanding of caching and queueing technologies such as Redis & Kafka.
Strong experience with testing best practices and test automation.
Technical Analysis and Design capabilities.
Proficient in version control using Git.
Familiarity with configuring and using CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with various IDEs (preferably JetBrains tools).
Frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular, React, Node.js.
