We are looking for a proactive and technically driven Process & Application Engineer – Separation Technology to support our customers and sales teams by evaluating, testing, and optimizing separation processes. You will combine hands‑on testing, process scaling, market exploration, and technical consulting, becoming a key internal expert in separation technology.
Responsibilities
* Technical Analysis & Feasibility
o Analyze product samples sent by Sales and Service Managers to determine the feasibility of separating liquid or solid phases using separator technologies.
o Perform lab‑scale tests to validate the most effective technical approach for each customer case.
* On‑Site Testing & Process Optimization
o Organize and execute tests at customer sites to scale up laboratory processes.
o Optimize, troubleshoot, and improve existing customer processes involving separation technology.
o Advise customers on how to upgrade and enhance their operations using separators, guiding their technical decision‑making.
* Innovation, Trends & Market Exploration
o Stay up to date on industry trends to identify new applications where separation technology can provide value.
o Collaborate with public and private research centers to expand internal knowledge related to separation processes.
* Product & Application Evaluation
o Evaluate new GEA Westfalia products to determine their potential application in customer processes and internal projects.
* Sales Support & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
o Provide technical support to Sales Managers by recommending the right separator type, configuration, and process parameters for each project.
o Contribute to the introduction of separation technology into new markets or customer segments.
o Make autonomous technical decisions regarding separation configurations, always aligned with commercial strategy.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Research, Development, and Innovation or similar technical roles.
* Technical Knowledge:
o Familiarity with industrial machinery and production processes.
o Knowledge of separator technology is a strong advantage.
o Experience with SAP is valued.
* Skills:
o Proficiency in IT tools: Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook.
o Native Spanish & Advanced English (written and spoken).
o Strong communication and teamwork skills.
o Dynamic, creative, and solution‑oriented mindset.
o High level of autonomy in technical decision‑making.
o Full availability to travel.
