Senior Financial Analyst – AWS Data Center Finance – Sydney, Australia
Job Summary
AWS has an immediate opening in Sydney, Australia for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Data Center Finance team in Asia‐Pacific. In this role you will work with regional AWS leadership to lead financial controllership of AWS Data Center Community and improve financial performance.
Key Job Responsibilities
Serve as the key business partner working directly AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
Drive cost savings by identifying opportunities and benchmarking across vendors and locales.
Work across teams on cost savings projects, automation and improvement initiatives with finance, construction, IT and design.
Conduct regular face to face and virtual meetings in the Asia‐Pacific region to support business partners and drive further efficiencies.
Manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast various metrics for financial risks and opportunities.
Report on the financial performance and lead in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reviews.
Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management.
Monitoring compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes and controls to support the fast‐growing, global AWS business.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or MBA and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Business partnering experience
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, or CPA
Experience working with large‐scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
Able to work well with cross functional teams. Comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to work independently and self‐motivate in a fast paced and rapidly‐changing environment
