Overview:This position is located at U.S. Naval Hospital Rota, Spain.Naval Station Rota, plays a crucial role in supporting our nation’s objectives and defense, providing unmatched logístical support and strategic presence to all of our military services and allies. NAVSTA Rota supports Naval Forces Europe Africa Central (EURAFCENT), 6th Fleet and Combatant Commander strategic priorities by providing airfield and port facilities, security, force protection, logístical support, administrative support and emergency services to all U.S. and NATO forces.Situated on a 6,100-acre Spanish Navy base, NAVSTA Rota provides cargo, fuel and logistics support to units transiting the region, supporting U.S. and NATO ships with three active piers; U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force aircraft with a 670-acre airfield; and the largest weaponsand fuels facilities in Europe, all located within a single, secure fence-line. Under the guidance of the Agreement on Defense Cooperation (ADC), the U.S. and Spanish navies work together and share many facilities.**Relocation expenses reimbursed: (Yes)-You may qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy.****Work as an independent professional carrying out independent duties in accordance with generally accepted psychological theories, methods, techniques, and practices for children, adolescents, and family members.****Responsibilities**: As a Clinical Psychologist you will:- Make mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required.- Provide individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes.- Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions, and behavioral health issues affecting medical conditions.- Serve as the authority on primary care psychology for the clinic.- Provide evidenced-based individual treatment and psychoeducational classes for patients enrolled in primary care clinics.- Execute performance initiatives (PI) through revision of clinical standards and procedures.- Provide consultation regarding interpretation and approval of outcome measures and screening instruments.- Performs Other Duties as AssignedQualifications:**Who May Apply: US Citizens****Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist**:**Degree**: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.**In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below**:**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes performing psychological evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
