The ideal candidate combines solid regulatory domain knowledge (EMIR, MiFID/MiFIR, AMLD5, country-specific reporting) with strong data analysis and specification skills, and is comfortable acting as a bridge between business, compliance, and technical teams. Translate business, compliance, and regulatory requirements into clear, structured, and implementable functional and technical specifications
Document reporting logic, data transformations, and field-level requirements, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines
Lead data mapping activities between source systems and regulatory reporting schemas (XML, JSON, CSV, proprietary formats)
Prototype regulatory report outputs using SQL and Python to validate reporting logic and identify data gaps
Identify missing data, inconsistencies, and required transformation rules to ensure accurate reporting
Define and support data validation rules and quality checks
Collaborate closely with compliance, regulatory SMEs, architects, and delivery teams to validate interpretations and design feasible solutions
Support development, testing, and production rollout of regulatory reports
Support defect analysis and contribute to timely issue resolution
Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis
Working knowledge of Python for prototyping, output structuring, and logic testing
Experience working with XML, JSON, and structured data formats
Ability to understand data models, schemas, and integration flows at a conceptual level
Excellent communication skills with both business and technical audiences
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or similar
7+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a strong data-focused role
Fluent English (German and/or French is a plus)
Hybrid position in Madrid (3 days at client ́s office, Sol area, next to the underground).
Business hours (40 hours weekly with 1 hour for lunch).
