The Team Alvarez & Marsal's Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice is seeking to hire a Director to join its growing team.
PEPI works directly with private equity sponsors and portfolio company management teams to drive operational improvement, accelerate growth, enhance profitability, and deliver sustainable value creation.
Our professionals combine deep functional expertise with a hands-on, results-oriented approach, partnering closely with clients to execute initiatives that generate measurable impact.
Whilst this role sits within the broader PEPI team and will support a variety of value creation initiatives, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience and a strong interest in Digital, Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Technology-Enabled Transformation.
The successful candidate will work across the full investment lifecycle, supporting performance improvement programmes, operational transformations, value creation planning, and post-deal execution initiatives across a broad range of industries.
How you will contribute Support private equity sponsors and portfolio company leadership teams in identifying and executing value creation opportunities Lead and deliver operational and performance improvement initiatives focused on growth acceleration, margin enhancement, cost optimisation, and EBITDA improvement Assess business performance and identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies, data, analytics, automation, and AI to drive measurable results Develop and implement transformation programmes that improve operating models, processes, decision-making, and organisational effectiveness Support value creation planning efforts, helping management teams prioritise initiatives and quantify expected benefits Work alongside management teams to deliver strategic and operational change initiatives across multiple business functions Evaluate digital capabilities and identify opportunities to improve performance through technology-enabled solutions Support the design and implementation of data-driven decision-making frameworks and performance management tools Lead workstreams and manage project teams across complex transformation and value creation engagements Build trusted relationships with private equity sponsors, portfolio company executives, and senior stakeholders Qualifications Significant experience within consulting, industry, private equity, or a combination thereof Strong track record of delivering performance improvement, transformation, operational excellence, or value creation initiatives Ability to link digital initiatives to tangible business outcomes, including revenue growth, margin improvement, productivity gains, and EBITDA enhancement Strong commercial mindset and understanding of value creation within private equity-backed businesses Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and management teams Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Prior experience working with private equity sponsors or portfolio companies is advantageous Fluency in English is essential;
