DESIGN & ENGINEERING COORDINATION MANAGER (10+ years exp) – International Projects
Bofill Arquitectura is looking for a Design & Engineering Coordination Manager to join our international architecture team in Barcelona.
Bofill Arquitectura is an internationally recognized architecture studio working on large-scale cultural, residential, hospitality, mixed-use and urban projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
We are seeking a highly experienced architect or engineer capable of leading multidisciplinary coordination processes across complex international projects. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, project management skills, leadership capabilities and architectural judgment.
The selected candidate will play a key role in coordinating internal design teams, external consultants, engineering disciplines, contractors and clients, ensuring that project objectives are achieved while maintaining design quality, technical consistency and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multidisciplinary coordination across architecture, structure, MEP, façade, vertical transportation, fire life safety and specialist consultants
Organize and manage project workflows, deliverables, planning schedules and coordination processes
Facilitate communication between internal teams, external consultants, clients and project stakeholders
Review engineering proposals and assess their impact on architectural quality, functionality and constructability
Monitor project interfaces, technical risks and coordination priorities
Participate in client meetings, workshops, technical reviews and design presentations
Support project teams in resolving complex technical and organizational challenges
Contribute to project strategy, decision-making and quality control processes
Coordinate BIM and digital workflows where applicable
Promote collaborative working environments and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams
Profile:
Minimum 10 years of professional experience
Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects
Strong experience coordinating architecture and engineering disciplines
Experience leading teams and managing consultants, clients and stakeholders
Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
Strong understanding of project planning, delivery methodologies and coordination processes
Experience with MEP coordination and building systems integration
International project experience is highly valued
Experience working with multicultural teams and international consultants is highly valued
Architectural design sensitivity and understanding of spatial quality are highly valued
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Knowledge of BIM environments is valued
Advanced knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM360, project management platforms and digital coordination tools is valued
Knowledge of project planning methodologies, quality control systems and organizational processes is valued
High level of English required
