About the Global Category Manager- IT Software Role
This role provides high-value procurement solutions to the business and supports third-party vendor selection, vendor development, technology management, and performance measurement activities.
The primary objective is to ensure best-in-class delivery of external services and products in the Data, Digital & IT Software Category. This includes year-on-year productivity improvements, cost savings, and process improvements in close collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
* Strategic Implementation: Implement strategic goals from stakeholder strategy, ecosystem, and category management perspectives. This involves planning, organizing, managing projects, defining scope and objectives, and utilizing software tools for tracking and reporting.
* Procurement Tools and Processes: Support the definition and implementation of procurement tools and processes.
* Demand Management: Ensure the right balance between business needs and Novartis' strategy by working with stakeholders to identify cost-effective delivery methods.
* Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management: Execute the Source-to-Contract process, prepare and conduct negotiations, and adapt tactics to meet business and procurement objectives.
* Stakeholder Relationships: Analyze specifications for optimization, link specifications to customer value, and communicate effectively to stakeholders.
* Relationship Building: Build long-term, sustainable relationships, understand stakeholder landscapes, and demonstrate intelligence across business structures.
Minimum Requirements:
* Education: University or advanced degree; Master's degree or higher in IT, Business Administration preferred.
* Experience: Preferably over 5-10 years of experience in procurement, software category management, or related fields, with a focus on IT software and services, including negotiations with top suppliers like SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, etc.
* Project Management and Leadership: Strong project management and leadership experience.
* C-level Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder management at CxO level.
* Language Skills: Excellent spoken and written English skills.
