Offer Description
This PhD project focuses on the design and analysis of leaky-wave antennas for advanced communication and radar systems in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency ranges. The research will involve electromagnetic modelling, antenna design, and experimental validation of novel radiating structures.
The candidate will join the Radio Technologies and Applications research group at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, which conducts internationally recognized research in antennas, metasurfaces, and microwave technologies for advanced communication and sensing systems. The PhD will be supervised by Prof. Eva Rajo-Iglesias.
The selected candidate must meet the admission requirements and be formally admitted to a PhD program at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid by the time the employment contract is signed.

Requirements
* Research Field Engineering > Electrical engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalent
* Strong background in electromagnetics and antenna theory
* Experience with numerical simulation tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, COMSOL)
* Knowledge of microwave/millimeter-wave systems
* Experience with laboratory measurements and experimental validation (preferred)
* Good programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
* Ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary research environment
* Good written and spoken English
* Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
* Must be admitted to a PhD program at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid by the time of contract signature
* Motivation for research in antennas, and microwave technologies
* Strong academic record
