The Housekeeping Lead manages daily housekeeping operations across multiple Sonder properties, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming guest units while empowering a team of housekeepers and maintaining inventory and digital tools.
Responsibilities Manage weekly and daily cleaning schedules for a team of housekeepers.
Support and lead cleaner onboarding, ongoing training, and performance improvement.
Organize and prepare supplies for daily distribution, ensuring effective inventory control.
Tri‐age and delegate real‐time guest requests to the appropriate cleaners.
Perform standard housekeeping duties when necessary: cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, bedrooms; changing linen and terry; polishing surfaces; removing trash/recycling; restocking soaps, shampoos, kitchen items, and branded Sonder collateral; ensuring furniture, appliances, and amenities remain clean and functional.
Conduct special projects as assigned.
Initiate and manage reporting of maintenance issues, safety hazards, or property damage.
Manage digital programs including the online housekeeping scheduler, cleaner mobile app, and internal reporting and communication platforms.
Support cleaner training and compliance on the digital tools.
Travel daily within the market and to the central warehouse to complete tasks and manage the cleaning program.
Qualifications Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in both leadership and independent roles.
Previous experience in a housekeeping leadership position or similar operational role, with personnel management responsibilities.
Experience managing schedules, budgets, and applications.
Tech‐savvy: proficiency with mobile and digital applications and ability to communicate electronically with management.
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and best practices.
Familiarity with operating household cleaning equipment and best practices.
Physical stamina and mobility: ability to reach, kneel, bend, and lift/push/pull loads (typically ~40 lb).
Regular access to a reliable smartphone and reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record with proof of insurance.
