Join our TUI BLUE Hotel Development team based in Dubai as a Technical Engineering Manager where you will play a key operational management role as the link between the Central Engineering Technical Hub and the individual hotel maintenance departments regionally. This is a newly created position, so a significant task will be the business start-up process, including setting up the department for new destinations and establishing standards and best practices.
About the Job
As Technical Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the Global Head of Business Development. Your responsibilities include:
1. Managing the overall engineering functions for the hotel’s facilities, including mechanical, technical equipment, structural maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping.
2. Ensuring health & safety standards within the hotel premises and managing related trainings.
3. Liaising with external agencies to ensure compliance with local regulations.
4. Preparing estimates for budgets and managing financial forecasts for projects and renovations.
5. Monitoring construction processes for compliance with contracts and blueprints.
6. Leading Property Improvement Programs and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure standards are met.
7. Managing third-party contractors and sourcing vendors to support budget controls.
8. Performing preventive maintenance and inspections, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safety compliance.
9. Implementing energy management and cost-saving programs.
10. Developing maintenance policies, safety protocols, and communication channels.
11. Responding promptly to technical service requests from guests and staff.
12. Participating in technical exhibitions to stay updated with market trends.
About You
Qualified professional with a relevant degree (BSc, MSc preferred), extensive hotel construction management experience (7-10 years), and fluency in English and German; French is required. Additional languages are advantageous. Willingness to travel up to 70% globally is necessary. You should have strong project management skills, knowledge of building codes, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, and experience in start-ups, innovation, or business transformation.
