About the role
At SOTEC Consulting – Astek Group, we are looking for 4 Senior Data Engineers (5+ years of experience) to join our team and play a key role in building scalable data frameworks and platforms, going beyond individual pipelines to full end-to-end solutions.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data architectures in AWS, ensuring high performance, scalability, and data quality across the entire lifecycle.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, and deploy data pipelines and data platforms using AWS services
* Build and maintain data lake, lakehouse, or data mesh architectures
* Develop scalable ETL processes and data models
* Collaborate with Data, Analytics, and DevOps teams to deliver business-driven solutions
* Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, supporting change management processes
* Take full ownership of projects from design to delivery
Mandatory Requirements
* 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer
* Strong understanding of when and how to use different data tools and technologies (not tool-limited profiles)
* Expertise in:
Spark and Scala
Python
SQL
AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, EC2, Lambda)
* Solid experience in ETL design and data modeling
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work end-to-end (E2E) and make scalable technical decisions
* High attention to detail
Nice to Have
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.G., GitHub Actions)
* Knowledge of Apache Iceberg or similar table formats
* Experience with data quality frameworks (e.G., Great Expectations, Deequ)
* Familiarity with Bash or HCL
