We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Cadiz engineering team supporting the design, development, and enhancement of industrial electronic products for circuit protection, relays, and related assemblies.
You will work on a broad range of activities—from mechanical design and documentation to tooling, test fixture development, and engineering support for manufacturing operations.
About the job:
* Review specifications and develop complete design proposals for electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
* Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings from concepts through released documentation.
* Provide technical support to Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, Purchasing, and other internal departments.
* Design and support production hardware, tooling, fixtures, and equipment needed for efficient and safe product fabrication.
* Prepare assembly, testing, and qualification procedures and conduct mechanical stress analysis on products and materials.
* Coordinate with certification agencies and third‑party labs to ensure compliance with relevant international standards.
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical assemblies.
* Track and report project schedules, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
* Ensure all design evidence, procedures, test reports, and engineering documentation meet internal standards and regulatory expectations.
* Utilize prototyping tools—including 3D printers, CNC mills, lathes, and general shop equipment—to evaluate and iterate design concepts.
* Conduct validation/verification testing, first off inspection, etc.
About you:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
* Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools for solid modeling, assemblies, and 2D drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
* Ability to interpret technical specifications and convert requirements into manufacturable designs.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
* Experience working in a manufacturing or product‑development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally supporting electronics or electromechanical products.
* Familiarity with thermal modeling and electronic enclosure design.
* Experience designing parts for injection molding.
* Experience designing test jigs and equipment
* Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and test methods.
* Hands on skills and experience with rapid‑prototyping tools (3D printing, CNC, shop equipment).
