Our client, a leading company in the education sector, is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager with accountability for Spain and Italy.
Purpose
The Commercial Finance Manager plays an important role in managing the region’s financial performance, focussing on profitability, growth, cost contention and risk management.
Key Accountabilities
1.Supporting FP&A :
* Budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and profitability analysis.
2.Bridging the gap between Finance and Business Operations :
1. Collaborating with the schools’ Business Managers, the SCP Business Controlling Manager, and the SCP Finance Manager.
3.Identify and / or assess business opportunities :
2. Ensure that business initiatives are financially viable and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.
4.Project Management Support :
3. Support for expansion projects, acquisitions and post-merger integrations.
What you will be doing :
4. Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance to develop and execute strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and objectives.
5. Monitor key KPI and provide insights on opportunities to improve margins by analysing opportunities for cost contention and revenue enhancements in schools.
6. Work closely with schools’ Business Managers and the SCP Finance Operations team to ensure an accurate rolling forecast.
7. Collaborate with the Business Controlling Manager and the SCP Finance Manager to ensure that business outcomes are aligned to financial targets at all times.
8. Assist the Head of Finance in driving the annual Budgeting and 5YP revision process for the region; identify and quantify risks and opportunities.
9. Model business cases and carry out sensitivity analysis for existing and future business opportunities.
10. Track and monitor data for variance analysis.
11. Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for the Head of Finance’s review and use in executive meetings.
12. Collaborate with schools and the finance team to gather and analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
13. Provide project management support for key finance-related initiatives, including cross-functional projects and process improvements.
14. Track action items, follow up on deadlines, and ensure timely completion of projects and deliverables.
15. Coordinate and facilitate effective communication between central functions, schools, and other stakeholders.

20. Excellent command of English and Spanish.

Qualifications :
28. Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
Experience :
29. Experience in budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to develop long-term financial plans.
30. Strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving profitability.
31. Meaningful and relevant proven experience of at least 5 years in a similar position; experience in the education sector or a similar industry would be an advantage.
