Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor
Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine – The University of Hong Kong (Ref.: 533859)
Responsibilities
* Teach and develop undergraduate and postgraduate medical curricula, including teaching medical students, training interns and residents, and contributing to curriculum design.
* Conduct high‑quality scholarly research, publish findings, and secure research funding.
* Provide clinical service and patient care at the University’s teaching hospitals.
* Participate in departmental and faculty governance; undertake administrative duties as required.
* Assist in the development of the HKU‑Shenzhen Hospital and be available for travel to Shenzhen when necessary.
Qualifications
* Medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
* Preferably a higher professional qualification such as Specialty Fellowship in Surgery from the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong or an equivalent.
* Strong commitment to teaching with demonstrated excellence in medical education.
* Outstanding achievements in research and scholarly publications.
* Proven clinical competence and experience in direct patient communication.
* Fluency in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.
