Ciklum is looking for a Senior Python Engineer (Payment) to join our team in Spain.

About the role:
As a Senior Python Engineer (Payment), you'll become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.
The project focuses on the end-to-end payment lifecycle, including inbound/outbound flows (Swift, SEPA) and complex third-party integrations, within a cloud-native, high availability environment. Feature Development: Design and enhance microservices focused on payment processing, integrations, and financial tooling.
Responsibilities:
- System Integration: Implement and maintain asynchronous communication patterns to ensure data consistency and system speed.
- Observability & Monitoring: Take full ownership of service behavior by implementing tracking, monitoring, and managing production alerts/issues.
- Technical Learning: Rapidly assimilate and apply knowledge regarding specific payment schemes (Swift, SEPA, etc.) and technical documentation.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within a distributed international team, participating in Agile ceremonies and meeting delivery goals.
Requirements:
- Expert-level Python: Proven mastery of the language for backend development.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Professional experience working with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Microservices Architecture: Deep understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous communication.
- Kafka: Practical experience in publishing, consuming, and processing data streams.
- Kubernetes (K8s): Experience deploying and operating services within orchestrated environments.
- Payment Industry Experience: Mandatory background in international payments, local payouts, or card processing (regulated environments).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret and implement technical schemas such as ISO 20022 or Swift documentation.
