What will be the challenge?
This role is crucial for leading a team of 5 Data Engineers, ensuring the development of high-quality data solutions while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
What will the day-to-day look like?
• Lead and mentor a team of 5 Data Enineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Own and drive data engineering best practices, ensuring optimal use of AWS, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, ClickHouse and S3.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, assess priorities, and define data engineering roadmaps.
• Manage sprint planning and backlog priorization using Jira.
• Oversee data pipeline design, development, and maintenance to ensure scalability and performance.
• Collaborate in the definition of data quality, governance and security frameworks.
• Establish and enforce best practices in version control, CI/CD, and code quality using GitHub.
• Contribute to the transformation and strategy evolution of data engineering capabilities.
Valuable Technical Background:
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, including S3, Lambda, and Redshift (or equivalent technologies).
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, DBT, Docker, and Clickhouse, Snowflake or similar.
• Strong experience in ETL pipeline development, data modeling and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering task.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methologies and experience in Jira for sprint planning.
• Familiarity with GitHub workflows, including branching strategies and CI/CD processes.
• Ability to balance technical leadership with project management and priorization.
