Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the H&S manager will coordinate the Health & Safety unit at BSC, implementing the annual H&S plan and the health-monitoring program.
The person will manage risk assessments, emergency plans, and accident investigations. Crucially, this role will also lead the center’s Psychosocial Risk strategy, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment by mediating workplace disputes and designing organizational health protocols.
She/he/they will participate in other transversal HR projects of the Department.
Key Duties
* Health & Safety Core:
* - Implement and review H&S policies, risk assessments, and emergency plans.
* - Coordinate the Health & Safety Unit, supervising 2 H&S Officers.
* - Training & Onboarding: Organize H&S training sessions (welcome basics and specifics) and health promotion initiatives.
* - Compliance: Act as the expert in H&S legislation to ensure continuous improvement and legal compliance across all center activities.
* - Support the development of a strong Health and Safety-focused culture across the Center. Promote a proactive safety mindset through training sessions (onboarding and specialized) and health promotion initiatives.
* - Support the development of briefing and communication strategies to ensure that the Health and Safety plan and important information are understood and followed by all employees, subcontractors, visitors and collaborators.
* - Conflict Resolution: Act as a neutral mediator in workplace disputes and harassment cases, ensuring internal protocols are followed, and a culture of respect is maintained.
* - Risk Assessment: Evaluate and monitor organizational risk factors such as work-related stress, burnout, and workload.
* - Protocol Design: Design and implement formal protocols for conflict resolution, mental health support, and the prevention of workplace harassment, fostering a culture of mutual respect.
* Operational Excellence & Environment:
* - Lead the management of hotdesking and flexible seating strategies, balancing space efficiency with a high-quality employee experience and ergonomic standards.
* - Coordination of Business Activities (CAE): Oversee H&S compliance for all subcontractors, visitors, and external collaborators.
* - KPI Management: Develop and maintain measurement systems and indicators to track H&S performance and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements
Education
* University Degree
* Specific training in Health and Safety (Postgraduate or Master's Degree) with a minimum of two specialities (Labour Safety, Industrial Hygiene, psychosocial risks or Ergonomics)
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an H&S Technician in a company with its own H&S unit, or in an external H&S service company.
* Strong skills in Microsoft office.
* Excellent command of English, Spanish, and Catalan (written and spoken) due to the international and institutional nature of the center.
* Solid knowledge of methodologies to evaluate and mitigate stress, burnout, and workload.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
* Experience in a Research or Academic center will be valued.
* Proven experience in Conflict Mediation and Psychosocial Risk Assessment is highly valued.

* The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
