Position Overview

As a Collections Specialist, you will be vital in recovering outstanding debts by utilizing excellent communication, empathy, and negotiation skills to build positive customer rapport and find mutually beneficial solutions.

Responsibilities
1. Initiate contact with overdue account customers via inbound and outbound calls.
2. Review and analyze customer accounts to understand their status and reasons for non-payment.
3. Negotiate professionally and empathetically to collect debts while maintaining customer satisfaction.
4. Process payments and set up payment arrangements per company policies.
5. Maintain detailed records of interactions and agreements in the database.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
7. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
8. Generate reports on collections activities and account statuses.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and company policies through ongoing training.
10. Achieve or exceed collection targets professionally.
Candidate Qualifications
Ideal candidates are motivated, dedicated, and possess:
* Must be 18+ years old
* High school diploma or equivalent
* At least 6 months experience in collections or billing
* Strong understanding of billing and collections
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle difficult interactions empathetically
* Proficiency with computer systems and collection software
* Typing speed of 45+ WPM
* Attention to detail and organizational skills
* Negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Goal-oriented and capable of evaluating and troubleshooting customer issues
* Customer service orientation, patience, and responsiveness
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong team orientation and reliability
