Overview
Oversee, enhance, and optimize aircraft performance data and procedures within the Flight Operations department, adhering to safety, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements, to ensure optimal aircraft performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all changes in airport data, such as runway distances, elevations, and obstacles, are accurately identified and communicated for impact evaluation.
* Identify and relay only the relevant NOTAMs that affect aircraft performance, addressing critical temporary changes promptly.
* Ensure changes in airport procedures, approach paths, and noise abatement procedures are correctly implemented with up-to-date navigational charts.
* Analyze and update terrain data, identify false alerts, and ensure accurate terrain information to prevent accidents.
* Determine deterioration of aircraft engines by analyzing performance data, ensuring fuel consumption is accurately adjusted and communicated to relevant departments.
* Ensure pilots have up-to-date performance data in their OPT Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) for accurate calculations based on current conditions.
* Evaluate the operational impact of obstacles and procedural changes to ensure safe and efficient operation under new constraints.
* Provide clear, updated procedures for emergency scenarios (e.g., engine failures or rapid descents) to enhance operational safety.
* Incorporate maintenance data into performance calculations so that engine cleaning or part replacements are reflected in assessments.
* Assist in creating and validating new performance-related procedures to improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
* Provide essential technical support during peak periods to maintain continuity and safety in aircraft performance tasks.
* Create and maintain training materials and mentor new team members to ensure full competency and smooth departmental operation.
* Attend international workshops related to Performance to keep procedures up-to-date and advanced.
Education
* A degree in Aeronautical Engineering or similar is required.
* Understanding of aircraft performance principles, including take-off and landing calculations, engine performance, and impact of obstacles and environmental factors on flight operations.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in aviation.
* Proficiency in using Flight Bag systems (e.g., FlySmart) and electronic flight operations tools, and expertise in performance calculation software.
* Familiarity with statistical methods and probability analysis.
Experience
* 2-3 years of experience in an airline's engineering or flight operations department, with experience specifically in a performance engineering role.
* Experience in analyzing and interpreting performance data and trends for operational safety and efficiency.
* Hands-on experience with GPWS data, including identifying false alerts and assessing impact on flight operations.
* Involvement in project management activities related to performance data validation and software updates.
