Position Overview
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing new business and growing existing accounts within the Packaging Converter Market, with a focus on Extrusion Films and Foil products. The role covers Iberia and France and is a field-based position requiring frequent customer interaction across multiple functions, including Purchasing, Product Development, Operations, Quality and Marketing.
You will work in close collaboration with Customer Service, Technical, Operations and R&D; teams to protect and grow the existing portfolio while identifying and executing new growth opportunities. This role plays a key part in delivering profitable, sustainable growth aligned with Amcor’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Performance
- Deliver sales targets, including profitable year-over-year growth for the assigned territory.
- Grow revenue with existing customers while actively prospecting and developing new accounts.
- Leverage strong knowledge of Amcor’s portfolio, market trends and competitive landscape to win new business.
- Manage complex customer accounts, ensuring customer needs are clearly communicated internally and effectively addressed.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing agreements and customer contracts.
Relationship & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations.
- Develop collaborative, long-term partnerships that enable proactive and strategic customer discussions.
- Strengthen relationships between Amcor and customer stakeholders across leadership, Supply Chain, R&D; and Operations.
- Drive share-of-wallet growth through cross-functional collaboration and effective commercialization and onboarding processes.
- Actively network within the industry, engaging with co-packers, OEMs, machine suppliers and industry associations.
- Own account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvement initiatives and churn management within the CRM system.
Forecasting, Planning & Reporting
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports for key accounts using the IBP (Integrated Business Planning) tool.
- Maintain transparent pipeline and opportunity management through Salesforce CRM.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on account performance, risks and opportunities.
Strategic Contribution
- Develop and execute territory and account strategies that deliver sustainable organic growth.
- Identify and mobilize internal resources (Technical, Supply Chain, Commercial and site teams) to support customer growth objectives.
- Position Amcor as a strategic partner by identifying solutions that enable broader and deeper customer relationships.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of robust commercial processes that enhance visibility, collaboration and execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in the packaging industry, with a solid understanding of industrial and solution-based sales processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
- Strong commercial mindset with proven ability to open new accounts and develop long-term customer relationships.
- Confident, communicative and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience using CRM systems, forecasting tools and cloud-based applications.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organization and collaborating across functions and geographies.
- Fluent in Spanish, French and English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%, primarily within Iberia and France, with occasional travel across Europe.
