The Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software products in the Controls Services Business portfolio. Customers are primarily in the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries internationally, located both onshore and offshore.
Job Description
1. Install and commission Control Solutions hardware and software across various machine types in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Fertilizers, and other process industries.
2. Troubleshoot existing Control Solutions hardware and software installations on-site.
3. Prepare field service jobs and interventions with project managers.
4. Provide technical assistance and training to customers on-site.
5. Supervise mechanical and electrical subcontractors, including de-installation and re-installation of instrumentation.
6. Supervise cable laying, meggering, and connections.
7. Lead and execute loop checks, commissioning, and functional tests.
8. Lead unit start-up and performance tests, ensuring safe operation and troubleshooting control system issues.
9. Maintain accurate timesheets and obtain customer signatures.
10. Write detailed reports after each job.
11. Maintain operational knowledge of Nexus Control Solutions hardware and software.
12. Monitor site safety during job execution.
13. Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
14. Understand and adhere to Terms and Conditions (T&C).
15. Input hours, expenses, and timesheets accurately into internal systems.
Required Qualifications
* College degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, IT Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant industries.
* Excellent communication skills for technical and business contexts.
* Hands-on troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of rotating equipment control philosophy (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Compressors) and auxiliaries.
* Experience with control panels (UCP, MCC, DCP), DCS, and fire fighting systems installation and commissioning.
* Familiarity with field devices, instruments, and actuators.
* Ability to handle tools like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and field generators.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings (wiring diagrams, P&ID, GA).
* Ability to work under pressure, willingness to travel, and work overtime.
* Valid driver's license and passport.
