Technical Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineer - Energy Software (m/f/d)

I’m currently partnering with a fast-growing international software company delivering advanced solutions to the general energy and utilities sector. Their platform helps organizations turn complex operational and asset data into actionable insights, supporting critical decisions across large-scale infrastructure networks.
Due to ongoing growth, the company is looking for a Senior Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineer to support commercial activities across Europe.
The Role
This is a high-impact, customer-facing pre-sales position at the intersection of technology, sales, and the energy sector.
You will work closely with the sales teams to shape and win new business, engaging directly with Distribution System Operators (DSOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and other utility customers. The role involves understanding complex customer requirements and positioning tailored software solutions that deliver both technical and commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Commercial Support
- Partner with sales to qualify opportunities and support deal strategy
- Lead technical discussions with prospective customers
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops
- Support RFP/RFI responses and technical proposal processes
Solution Design & Positioning
- Translate customer requirements into tailored solution architectures
- Align solutions with customer systems, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to proposals including scope, timelines, and effort estimates
Customer Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to utility clients and partners
- Conduct discovery sessions to capture operational and technical challenges
- Support proof-of-concept and pilot projects
Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with product, delivery, and engineering teams
- Provide market feedback to inform product development and positioning
Your Background
- Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software or SaaS, ideally in the energy/utilities sector
- Experience working with DSOs, TSOs, or similar infrastructure customers
Familiarity with:
- Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
- Asset Performance / Analytics
- Network modelling or outage management
- Excellent communication skills, able to present to technical and business stakeholders
- Commercial acumen and experience supporting complex sales cycles
- Fluent in Spanish & English
