EIT Urban Mobility is a private company that manages public and private funds deployed to accelerate the sustainable mobility transition in cities,operating across Europe.

EIT Urban Mobility is formed by a main legal entity (established in Barcelona) and its affiliates, which are hubs established in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague and Munich and a foundation. The sole shareholder of EIT Urban Mobility is a non-profit Association based in Barcelona.

Our organization has a mix of blended interests and challenges stemming from both public and private legal frameworks with the aim to be financially sustainable in order to ensure a long-lasting ecosystem. Such complex legal personality is part of the DNA of this company. And we like it. We want to find bright minds who like their profession and help EIT Urban Mobility to accomplish its mission.

Our team of lawyers is growing and is permanently working with thematic areas to support them with the conclusion of contracts (service agreements, grant agreements, investment contracts, commercial contracts, etc.).

The Legal team supports the following areas and their projects activities:

* Thematic Areas (Innovation, Impact Ventures, Communications, Academy, Ecosystem & Stakeholders).
* Innovation Hubs (North, Central, South, West and East).
* Governing Boards of EIT UM (KIC LE, Foundation, Association, etc.).
* Operations team (Procurement, Privacy, IP, grant programme management, Tech, etc.)

We are looking for a talented and motivated lawyer who wants to practice law differently. We are looking for someone who excels technically and also has a keen commercial sense. You will have the opportunity to advise and support projects that are funded to transform cities and urban areas into more livable places.

Main role of the Junior Legal Officer

The successful candidate will be part of the Legal team and play a pivotal role in:

* Contract law:
* Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts (service agreements, commercial agreements, NDAs, etc.).
* Prepare and review financial support agreements.
* Assist in the implementation of contract lifecycle processes to improve the Legal Team's efficiency.

* IP:

* Advise on IP strategies in innovative consortiums and start-ups, creating and maintaining commercial opportunities and ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations such as GDPR and other applicable laws.
* Conduct basic IP analysis and research for innovative startups and Horizon Europe funded projects.
* Provide administrative and legal support in IP rights registrations (trademarks, designs, etc.).
* Support implementation of IP governance and strategy, handling of IP documentation and record-keeping.
* Support in drafting and negotiating IP-related contracts and consortium agreements.
* Assist with IP audits, checklists, and training materials.

* Data Protection:

* Help draft and review privacy-related documentation (policies, JCAs, DPAs, RoPAs, etc.).
* Support data protection compliance actions under laws like GDPR and other relevant regulations.
* Assist with privacy audits, checklists, and training materials.
* Provide responsive, pragmatic, solution-oriented counseling ensuring the strategic objectives of internal areas while protecting EIT UM's overall interests and reputation in accordance to ethical and legal standards in an anti-fraud culture.
* Improve and review our templates.
* Monitor changes in EU legislation and any relevant applicable laws, analyze impact and propose solutions to the business.

* Compliance

* Support in drafting and update internal policies.
* Support in preparation of trainings.

* Governance

* Support in preparation of general assemblies and shareholders meetings.
* Support in drafting the relevant minutes and other necessary corporate document preparation and execution.

* Other support to the Legal team in other areas where assistance may be requested.

The Junior Legal officer will report to and work under the supervision of the two senior Legal Officers of the Legal Team, and will engaged with the weekly team meetings with the Legal Director.

What you will bring along the way:

An ideal candidate will strive to generate positive environmental and social impact in line with EIT Urban Mobility's mission.

Must-have:

* At least 1-2 years' experience in the legal department of a company and/or reputed law firm with proven experience.
* Degree in Law in an EU Member State.
* IP and GDPR knowledge is a must.
* Native or very fluent in English, both oral and written.
* General experience gained in drafting/reviewing & negotiating commercial agreements and IP-related contracts.
* Ability to provide practical legal advice and support with a professionalism in a fast-paced environment and to establish a high degree of credibility, respect and trust at all levels.
* Strong commercial understanding, and excellent business interpersonal skills.
* Motivation to work in fast-moving, innovative, and sometimes ambiguous environments.
* Team player who can work independently.
* Well-organized and structured.
* Pro-active and hands-on.
* Sense of urgency.
* Well-developed communication skills.
* Attention to details.
* Ethics.
* Confidentiality duty.

Nice-to-have:

* Other EU languages (especially Catalan or Spanish).
* Experience working with Horizon Europe granted or granting entities.
* Experience in public procurement.

Kindly note that this is a permanent and full-time position, and it is based in Barcelona.

Possibility to work from home 2 days a week.
