The Role
AspenTech is a leading supplier of software that optimizes process manufacturing – including oil and gas, petroleum, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other industries that manufacture and produce products from a chemical process. With integrated aspenONE solutions, process manufacturers can implement best practices for optimizing their engineering, manufacturing and supply chain operations. As a result, AspenTech customers are better able to increase capacity, improve margins, reduce costs and become more energy efficient.
AspenTech is seeking an Advisory Engineer within our Global Professional Services organization based in Europe.
The candidate’s major responsibility is to provide consulting services within the Supply Chain division focusing on refinery planning, scheduling and offline blend optimization.
Your Impact
Delivering, training, and providing advisory services to support AspenTech clients in their exploitation of AspenTech Petroleum SCM Suite of solutions (PIMS / AUP, APS / AUS, MBO, PSCP) for refineries, Olefins, and Aromatics businesses.
* The candidate will execute most of the project work from start to finish.
* Performing or participating in proof of concepts / trial evaluations and providing user training.
* Leading cross-functional teams such as Customer Support and R&D to resolve Petroleum SCM issues.
* Supporting Sales and Marketing to grow Petroleum SCM licenses and services business.
* Supporting R&D with product beta testing and helping to improve product quality.
* Providing product training at the office and customer sites worldwide to enhance customer skills.
* Transferring knowledge to internal staff, conducting product training, and sharing best practices of operation.
What You'll Need
* Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Petroleum / Petrochemical Engineering, or similar fields; Master’s degree is a plus.
* 15+ years of relevant experience in Refinery or Petrochemical Planning / Scheduling or consulting in these areas.
* Experience in a related service organization and exposure to refinery, Olefins, or Aromatics industries is preferred. Candidates with experience as model administrators or internal consultants for these applications are also eligible.
* Familiarity with AspenTech Refinery Supply Chain Planning, Scheduling, and Blending suite (PIMS / AUP, APS / AUS, MBO, PSCP) or similar solutions from other vendors.
* Knowledge of refinery and petrochemical processes and their supply chain management is desirable.
* Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and / or Oracle.
* Programming skills in VB, C++, XML / XSL are beneficial.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
* Ability to multi-task efficiently, with domestic and international travel up to 25%.
* A fast learner motivated to learn new technologies and a team player capable of maintaining good customer relationships.
