For 70 years, UNICEF has been working on the ground in 190 countries and territories to promote children's survival, protection and development. The world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence and exploitation. UNICEF believes that all children have a right to survive, thrive and fulfil their potential – to the benefit of a better world. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments.
About the Role
UNICEF's fundamental mission is to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, through its programs, advocacy, and operations. The equity strategy focuses on the most disadvantaged and excluded children, translating this commitment into action. Information and Communication Technology Division serves as an enabler for UNICEF to enhance its role as a leading agency delivering results for children and women. To adapt to the evolving development environment and new technologies, we must regularly assess and improve our organizational capacity for effectiveness and efficiency. Recognizing the importance of digital and programmatic impact, UNICEF's ICT employees require ongoing support to develop their skills. This transformation drives strategies for upskilling through skill mapping and gap analysis within ICT functions to better understand talent landscapes and build capacity. A key strategy for ICTD in the next plan is the development of "TeamOne" Global Advisor Services. This flagship approach will enable UNICEF to advocate for sustainable digital impact for children at scale by enhancing the digital skills of staff globally and fostering collaboration across organizational and geographical barriers. The UNV HR Officer will support the HR Manager in learning and Development as well as support the global ICT skill mapping exercise and implementation of action plans and recommendations in terms of upskilling, capacity building, talent management initiative, succession planning, career path as well as any related process to support the TeamOne initiative.
