The Customer Technical Support Engineer (CTS) position will be part of CMO Automotive Packaging Electrical Steels. Join us if you have the ambition to contribute to a sustainable world.
Main responsibilities and activities: The CTS, together with the Account Manager, forms the core of the customer team, maintaining a "one face to the customer" philosophy. You will be responsible for all technical communication and developments for a specific set of customers. This involves liaising with quality teams at our Flat Europe mills, Customer Service teams, CTO, R&D, marketing, the commercial team, and the sustainability (XCarb) team. You will have regular contact with customers, assisting with production, new product trials, or quality incidents. Developing a high-level relationship with customers to understand their processes, products, and technical needs is essential.
Your role includes:
* Assisting and driving sales growth
* Providing product-specific information to customers
* Supporting new product development through approval processes and trial follow-up
* Preparing orders by analyzing specifications and supporting the commercial team with quotations
* Advising on product or process improvements at the customer level
* Creating value through cost-saving proposals
* Organizing training sessions for customers' quality, R&D, and sales teams
* Participating in action plan progress and supporting the sales team
* Providing technical advice to customers and internal teams regarding product feasibility, performance, tolerances, and guarantees
* Responding to technical inquiries related to customer orders
* Supporting customers in using our materials
* Communicating technical needs of customers to mills and commercial departments
* Quality management: Handling customer claims from problem collection to corrective action implementation in collaboration with production facilities
* Ensuring effective communication through visits, meetings, quality action plans, and audits
Skills & requirements:
* Autonomous, proactive, and customer-focused mindset
* Value- and solution-oriented thinking
* Strong and concise communication skills
* High interest in technical topics with an Engineering Master degree
* 3 to 5 years of experience in electric motors, preferably in the automotive sector
* Professional proficiency in English and fluency in German (Stuttgart), French (Dunkerque / Mardyck), Italian (Milan), or Spanish (Madrid)
Mobility: Regular customer and plant visits, which may require overnight stays.
