The Sustainability Product Manager ensures HP's sustainability objectives are reflected in practical, scalable product features and customer programs that align with business needs and the OneHP sustainability message.

The Sustainability Product Manager aligns products with customer needs, regulatory shifts, and market trends, mitigating risks and identifying opportunities. This role connects sustainability investments to customer value, revenue, and HP's overall mission.
Role Summary
The Sustainability Product Manager is responsible for deeply understanding customer sustainability needs, market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments, and translating these insights into actionable product and program requirements in close partnership with Program Management.
The role acts as a bridge between sustainability stewardship, product development, go‑to‑market teams, and corporate sustainability, ensuring sustainability capabilities are relevant, compliant, differentiated, and positioned as a business value driver for HP and its customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer, Market & Competitive Insight
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback, pain points, and expectations related to sustainability across regions and segments.
- Monitor competitive offerings, industry trends, and emerging sustainability practices to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Translate customer and market insights into clear, prioritized requirements for sustainability‑related products and programs.
Product & Program Requirements
- Work in close partnership with Program and Product Managers to translate sustainability needs into product and program requirements.
- Contribute to defining scope, requirements, and success criteria for sustainability solutions, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business priorities.
- Act as the sustainability and customer voice throughout development and evolution cycles.
Stewardship, Regulations & Risk Management
- Maintain close proximity to sustainability stewardship, environmental regulations, and standards relevant to the business.
- Assess how regulatory or stewardship developments may impact products, customers, or HP commitments.
- Proactively raise risks, dependencies, or compliance considerations, and translate them into mitigation actions or business opportunities.
Storytelling & Go‑To‑Market Enablement
- Transform sustainability features and capabilities into compelling, customer‑relevant stories that position sustainability as a business lever.
- Support GTM teams (Sales, Channel, Partners) with clear value propositions, narratives, and use cases to help them sell sustainability‑related solutions.
- Enable customers to leverage HP sustainability features in their own storytelling and market differentiation.
Marketing & Content Partnership
- Work closely with Marketing to create impactful sustainability content and messaging (e.g. enablement materials, customer‑facing assets, product narratives).
- Ensure sustainability messaging is accurate, credible, differentiated, and aligned with HP’s sustainability strategy and claims governance.
- Support launches, campaigns, and communications related to sustainability products and programs.
- Ensure consistency of sustainability storytelling across BU, corporate, and GTM channels, reinforcing a unified OneHP narrative.
Cross‑Business Unit & OneHP Collaboration
- Collaborate with other HP Business Units to align on sustainability approaches, share best practices, and learn from parallel initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for reuse, consistency, or joint development of sustainability capabilities, tools, or narratives across BUs.
Customer & GTM Support
- Act as a key point of contact for sustainability‑related questions from GTM teams and customers.
- Support responses to customer inquiries, RFIs, and sustainability‑related engagements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Represent sustainability products and capabilities in internal forums, customer briefings, and selected external engagements.
