Since 2019, supported by the European Commission, OpenNebula Systems has been at the forefront of edge computing innovation in Europe, contributing to EU initiatives like IPCEI-CIS and the European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge, and Cloud.
We seek a Cloud-Edge Solutions Documentation Technical Advisor (Contractor) to support our IPCEI-CIS project, developing the next-gen management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum. This role offers a chance to influence cloud-edge interoperability, AI integration, and infrastructure management.
Objective
Support and guide the project team in producing and improving technical documentation across cloud and edge computing use cases. Ensure best practices, high-quality content, and alignment with open source principles, Diátaxis framework, and stakeholder needs.
Collaborate with engineers, product owners, contributors, and managers to structure, review, and enhance documentation within IPCEI-CIS ecosystems.
Scope
Activities in WP4 Deployment of Distributed Intelligence Use Cases of IPCEI-CIS ONEnextgen Project (UNICO IPCEI-2023-003)
Services
* Provide expert guidance on managing technical documentation lifecycle, ensuring consistency with development milestones.
* Assist in creating Release Notes for new ONEnextgen versions in coordination with developers.
* Revise Tutorials, User Guides, and White Papers for clarity and user experience.
* Review White Papers with the Content & Community team to ensure quality and consistency.
* Improve Knowledge Base articles by integrating external best practices.
* Support project teams with deliverable preparation and editing.
* Promote documentation best practices across the organization, standardizing structure, language, and tone.
* Support community engagement through localization and quality assurance initiatives.
Duration
From 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026 (11 months)

Remote (occasional face-to-face meetings)
Budget
Maximum hourly rate: 35 euros
Work hours
Maximum 1,800 hours per year
Total estimated cost: 57,750 euros (€5,250/month)
Technical Requirements
Demonstrate:
* At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the relevant area
Evaluation Criteria
Prioritize contractors based on:
* Price: Cost per hour
* Education: Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Computer Science
* Additional experience beyond minimum
Administrative Requirements
Before contract signing, provide:
* Social Security compliance certificate
* Tax compliance certificate
Contractors have two weeks after notification to submit these documents.
