We’re looking for a strategic Community & Engagement Strategist to lead how Erika Lust builds relationships with its audience — on and beyond social media. This is not just a posting-and-planning role. It's about turning insights into connection, touchpoints into community, and curiosity into long-term engagement.
You'll define and execute community-centric strategies that support brand love, customer retention, and audience expansion — across social platforms, our streaming platform, forums, content hubs, and emerging digital spaces. You’ll also help guide and mentor a Community Manager, collaborate cross-functionally with Editorial, CRM, Product, and Platform teams, and serve as a key connector between our audience and our mission.
This role is central to our growth and retention strategy, with plenty of room to shape tools, KPIs, and features from scratch. If you thrive at the intersection of strategic thinking, ethical adult content, and human connection, we want you.
What You’ll Do
* Own the social strategy across all major platforms (X, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) — while continuously proposing and experimenting with new channels and formats (e.g., Discord, forums, embedded community tools, comment design).
* Set up KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g., GA4, Emplifi, Superset) to track progress on engagement, growth, and community health.
* Mentor and guide the Community Manager, supporting both daily execution on social media and long-term growth.
* Design and lead a multi-channel community engagement strategy, across external social media (Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube, Meta) and internal touchpoints (comment sections, embedded tools, member spaces).
* Drive meaningful user interactions and increase retention by testing new content formats, event concepts (e.g., AMAs, behind-the-scenes drops), and interactive experiences.
* Translate audience feedback (from DMs, comments, emails, and platform activity) into qualitative insights that influence content, product, UX, and editorial decisions.
* Collaborate with CRM and Product teams to connect community engagement with retention goals, including new user onboarding and feature adoption.
* Stay ahead of digital ecosystem trends, algorithm shifts, NSFW policy changes, and emerging tools to continually evolve our approach.
* Contribute to the ideation and prototyping of new community tools and product features — from Q&As to embedded polls and user-generated collections.
Your Profile
* 5+ years of experience in community engagement, social media, digital strategy, or growth marketing — ideally with a focus on user retention or customer lifecycle.
* Fluent in both strategic planning and operational execution.
* Experienced with dashboard-building, metric frameworks, and qualitative/quantitative analysis (GA4, Superset, Emplifi, native platform tools).
* Confident team player who can lead and mentor, while aligning efforts with broader brand and business objectives.
* Comfortable navigating and advocating for ethical, feminist, NSFW content.
* You've worked with or built communities beyond traditional social media — including forums, Discord, comment moderation, or creator engagement tools.
* Proficient in CRO/UX collaboration, with a solid grasp of user flow optimization and social channel conversion strategies.
* English fluency required.

* Experience with social media and ads in restricted environments (e.g., Reddit Ads, Meta whitelisting, adult-friendly networks).
* Familiarity with low-code or no-code tools (Webflow, Carrd, Unbounce).
* Passion for adult, queer, feminist, or sex-positive creative industries.
* Past work with community-first brands, intimacy-at-scale models, or trust-centric platforms.
