About this opportunity
Senior professional responsible for managing customer relationships and coordinating cost management service delivery for data centre construction projects – from early cost advice to settlement of the final account.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
* Engaging positively with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships.
* Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet customer requirements and adhere to business procedures.
* Preparing and presenting cost estimates and option studies.
* Cost planning and cost-in-use studies.
* Advising on and implementing procurement strategies.
* Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.
* Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
* Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
* Settling final accounts.
* Providing technical advice on legal and contractual issues related to construction projects.
* Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
* Producing and presenting reports to customers.
* Mentoring and coaching employees to reach their full potential.
* Preparing bids for services.
* Managing service delivery for profit.
* Advising directors promptly of any issues that arise or might arise on projects, especially those impacting Gleeds' professional indemnity insurance.

About You
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills
* Sound commercial/cost management experience in data centre construction projects, covering pre-contract, construction, and post-contract cost management tasks.
* Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
* Experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* Methodical approach to work.
* Organizational skills and adaptability to changing environments.
* Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, financial, and numeracy skills.
* Proficiency in ICT tools, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work and manage teams effectively.
* English - C2 / native level.
Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Professional qualifications or memberships of RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS, or other relevant Chartered Institutes are desirable.
