Who we are looking for
We are looking for a senior project manager with a startup mindset to oversee hardware development during its entire lifecycle, from research and development to a market launch. The main objective is to commercialise a new generation of near-eye displays that fits into a form factor of standard glasses.
What you will do
1. Manage development of Inmersia’s near-eye display product from the research & development stage to the market launch
* Coordinate internal multidisciplinary teams ensuring effective communication among the teams and everyone’s alignment with the overall goal
* Identify and mitigate bottlenecks and risks in the project plan
* Manage supply chain and logistics and monitor stock of raw materials and components
* Manage project budget and identify cost saving opportunities without compromising quality
2. Grow Inmersia’s team overseeing hiring and onboarding of new members
What skills you have
* Management of the entire hardware product lifecycle (R&D, prototyping, technical validation, scaling up to pilot and mass production, and market launch)
* Management and optimization of supply chains (supplier selection, negotiations, inventory control) and anticipation and mitigation of risks of shortages and delays
* Ability to identify and mitigate R&D and production risks (delays, supplier issues, cost overruns) ensuring meeting project deadlines
* Ability to optimize cost and manage project budget, with the capacity to propose alternatives that maintain quality without significantly increasing expenses
* Ability to manage logistics and contract manufacturers
* Familiarity with certifications and safety regulations (FCC, CE, UL, etc.) for electronic and optical devices
* Mastery of agile project management and relevant software tools (Wrike, Jira, MS Project etc.)
What education and experience you have
* Master’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electronics, or other related disciplines
* Additional training or certifications in Project Management (Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
* At least 10 years of experience leading development projects for devices with optical, photonic, and/or electronic components
* Demonstrated track record coordinating multidisciplinary teams (physicists, electronics experts, chemists, etc.), ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
* Professional level of English (spoken and written), with fluency for conducting technical and business discussions in international settings
* Prior experience in tech startups or fast-growing environments, as well as the ability to work with global teams, will be highly valued.
