Role Purpose Statement: Support US GAAP financial reporting activities in Europe to achieve complete, accurate, timely, and compliant US GAAP F/S for the region. The role contributes to monthly / quarterly / YE routines, coordination of reporting processes, and preparing and analysing financial data, in order to improve data quality, consistency and process discipline.
This role is designed for a senior analyst / specialist profile who brings strong technical and analytical skills and is comfortable operating in a multi-country environment., The role will play a key role in execution, coordination, and quality control of regional reporting activities, and will partner with the business to ensure that Bunge results are analyzed, and opportunities and risks are identified to support our goal to continually improve business results.
Main Accountabilities: Financial Reporting:
- Reporting: Support the preparation and distribution of reporting instructions, calendars and templates. Active support in the month, quarter and year-end financial close and reporting process for Europe. Track reporting status and escalate delays or issues to the financial reporting lead, Europe.
- US GAAP: Contribute to compliance with US GAAP of the European countries reported F/S. Ensure the accuracy of all monthly financial statements and quarterly and year-end reporting packages (SEC and SFAS schedules).
- Monitor: Prepare high-quality Excel-based reconciliation and analysis files to support the measure via KPIs of the efficiency of our financial reporting – at OS level but also going backwards into the processes to have a clear view of our team’s performance.
- Others: Support the Financial reporting lead, Europe on any ad hoc financial reporting demand for the region.
Reporting processes:
- Financial control alignment: Perform analytical reviews and identify unusual movements or inconsistencies to support the Financial reporting lead, Europe in ensuring the controlling practices are well defined, aligned and implemented. Contribute to process alignment within the region.
- Accounting practices: Support the alignment of accounting practices within Europe where needed for the various parts of the books, with objective to improve consistency of numbers reported (not only material amounts).
- BBS: Work with the Financial reporting lead, Europe to ensure a consistent review of key deliverables is performed by BBS – Play an active role in the review of BBS accounting & reporting related processes for Europe & contribute to alignment of those processes together with the BBS Finance Delivery team to increase consistency, simplify our set up and optimize costs.
- Projects: Support the Financial reporting lead, Europe for specific projects taking place in the region – assist in preparation of high-quality supporting documentation for audits and internal review.
Knowledge management:
- Contribute to preparation of US GAAP & reporting related training activities for the teams in order to grow & help to maintain good GAAP knowledge / support maintenance of common repository for accounting & reporting knowledge.
- SOX, Internal Control
- Perform SOX controls as defined by KC matrix. Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for control execution.
- Track remediation actions and follow up on open control items under supervision. Promote best in class SOX documentation for financial close related controls.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in audit, financial reporting, accounting or controlling, experience with US GAAP, SOX and SEC financial reporting rules. Comfortable with IFRS. U.S. Multinational experience desired.
- Experience and desire to work with cross functional business environments.
- Excellent communication and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in a multi-country environment.
- Flexibility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and activities in high pressure situations.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently; proactive towards problems and issues.
- Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics. Qualified accountant or equivalent (ACCA, CPA, etc.) is a plus. Agricultural commodity experience is a plus.
- High level of proficiency with Excel, including complex formula, reconciliations, data analysis and preparation of management-quality reporting files. Working knowledge of OneStream.
