Your Mission
As Platform Engineering Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the architecture, performance, and reliability of the platform that powers millions of transactions across Europe. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure the infrastructure and tools enable high-quality, secure, and scalable services while fostering a culture of ownership and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities
* Infrastructure Leadership: Design and manage cutting-edge infrastructure leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
* Operational Excellence: Build a highly resilient platform by implementing best practices in observability, disaster recovery, and incident management.
* Performance Optimization: Develop frameworks to monitor, analyze, and enhance platform performance while driving cost efficiency through cloud resource optimization.
* Developer Enablement: Provide tools and services that empower development teams to work autonomously, including robust CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
* Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
* Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance, security, and governance standards are met, proactively addressing potential risks.
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with product, finance, and other business units to align technical goals with broader company objectives.
What We're Looking For
* Proven Leadership: At least 10 years of experience managing technical teams, with a track record of scaling operations and driving high-impact projects.
* Technical Depth: Strong expertise in cloud environments (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and DevOps practices (Terraform, CI/CD, observability tools).
* Resilience Champion: Passion for reliability and systems resilience, including hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning and performance monitoring.
* Cost Management Expertise: Familiarity with FinOps principles to optimize cloud spending and drive resource efficiency.
* Exceptional Communicator: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
* Innovative Thinker: A creative mindset with the ability to challenge conventional approaches and implement innovative solutions.
* Adaptable & Curious: Comfortable navigating dynamic environments and constantly learning to stay ahead of the curve.
Compensation and Benefits
* Competitive salary in the range of €75,000 to €95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
