unit is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join its cutting-edge research in electrochemical devices. This position focuses on the development of next-generation electrochemical platforms for sensing, energy conversion, and biomedical applications.About UCAM-SENSUCAM-SENS

Prof. María Cuartero (ERC Fellow) and Prof. Gaston Crespo, UCAM-SENS fosters research excellence, education, and industry collaboration. The unit operates within HiTech, a research incubator that promotes a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
PhD Research FocusThe selected PhD student will contribute to the design, fabrication, and optimization of electrochemical devices, exploring novel electrode materials, miniaturization strategies, and real-time analytical capabilities for diverse applications, includingbiosensing and energy storage.
Position RequirementsRequired Qualifications- M.Sc. degree in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or related fields.- Proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
O Electrochemical sensors and deviceso Energy storage/conversion systems (batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors)o Microfluidic and lab-on-a-chip electrochemical platformso Advanced electrode materials and surface modificationso In situ and operando electrochemical characterization techniques- Fluent English proficiency (B2/C1 level or higher).- Strong experimental, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
