CareDx offers products, testing services, and digital healthcare solutions along the pre- and post-transplant patient journey, and is the leading provider of genomics-based information for transplant patients.The Medical Director with experience in transplantation will lead the efforts to support the medical and clinical development strategy of CareDx’ pipeline and in-line products. This includes developing clinical trials, research studies, national and international registries, publications and abstracts, medical information activities, thought leader engagement, conferences, and other scientific and medical engagement platforms. This role will encompass individual contributions as well as team leadership and close collaboration across the company.The individual will educate and partner with clinical and business leaders, including transplant clinicians, other clinical and research transplant personnel, government and private payers, laboratory directors, distributors, and other external stakeholders. Internally, the medical director will partner with the functional and business leads, as well as the medical team to help prioritize, analyze, propose, and execute clinical and research partnerships to enable the generation and dissemination of evidence regarding CareDx’ broad transplant portfolio.You will have the opportunity to launch and scale CareDx’ new best-in-class offerings and drive the data using this platform to show improved outcomes for solid organ transplant recipients. The role is within the Medical Affairs organization, and a broad CareDx team will collaborate and support the medical director’s success, including Research and development, Marketing, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and others.The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of and experience in helping drive end-to-end patient care management, developing clinical messaging, engaging with clinicians and transplant key thought leaders to drive scientific and clinical innovation, evidence generation, and evidence dissemination in transplantation. A strategic approach to the involvement of industry with the clinical community through clinical and scientific understanding will be required. A record of accomplishments in transplantation, ability to build senior relationships, and / or launch new products in an entrepreneurial environment is a strong plus.The position involves frequent travel, working with key transplant centers, and supporting the commercial team with senior medical leadership where needed.Responsibilities :
Lead and advise a team of medical science liasons outside the US to accomplish the goals of the group.Design and execute strategies and ability to implement sponsored clinical studies, registries, IITs, grants, research collaborations, etc.Act as a senior company representative interacting with external scientific leaders, patient advocacy groups, regulatory authorities, and others.Present at customer workshops, symposiums, and meetings;
and work with key scientific bureau personnel to present on CareDx’s behalf.Function as the primary clinical resource for the commerical team to provide scientific and clinical leadership in the development of strategies for product / business development.Provide on-site clinical support at transplant centers through oral presentations, data reviews, and interactive resolution of clinician queries.Take part in the management of scientific and clinical advisory boards.Work with clinical operations and medical affairs, be able to propose, implement, and monitor clinical studies in major markets.Support scientific and clinical initiatives at key clinical and scientific meetings.Coordinate with the CareDx organization to ensure the proper resources are in place to support new clinical opportunities.Work closely with VP of Medical Affairs to review opportunities and provide proactive, regular reports on progress towards goals.Other duties as assignedQualifications :
Passion for improving patient outcomes in transplantation.Medical degree and experience beyond training required for the Medical Director role. Candidates without a medical degree but with significant experience and demonstrated capabilities matching the requirements may be considered for a role with similar scope and responsibility.Experience in transplantation, especially associated clinical research and publication.Understanding advanced diagnostics and related technologies, and their application to transplant solutions.Experience leading a team, ideally in an industry setting.Results-orientation – track record for delivering results, taking ownership and accountability.Strong initiative, creativity, independence, sense of urgency, self-motivation, and time management skills.Comfortable presenting to and partnering with executives, key thought leaders in the field, and with cross-functional partners to solve complex business challenges.Desire to work in a high growth and results-oriented team environment.Travel required, up to 50%.Every individual at CareDx has a direct impact on our collective mission to improve the lives of organ transplant patients worldwide.
