VHIR offers two vacant positions for an Optometrist to work in the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group. The selected candidate will participate in the project "Study of safety and effectiveness of topical administration (eye drops) of sitagliptin for treating early stages of diabetic retinopathy (EyeSit@). Education and qualifications
Degree in a life science, preferably optics and optometry
Desired qualifications
Master's degree in Clinical Optometry
Master's degree in Clinical trials
Experience and knowledge
Required
Over three years of experience in:
Performing OCT, FA, FAF and CFP
CFP using SAP management software
Working with suppliers related to visual acuity correction and ophthalmic imaging
Desired
Highly organised and methodical, with strong motivation and initiative
Excellent communication skills
Ability to respond quickly to requests from the team and sponsor
Main responsibilities and duties
Coordinate clinical research to ensure research activities comply with federal guidelines and institutional policy.
Ensure proper training of research personnel to comply with federal guidelines.
Record and document training activities of personnel.
Work closely with compliance officers facilitating and reporting on clinical audits.
Maintain confidentiality and protection of patients participating in clinical research, ensuring informed consent is obtained for all participants.
Document and report any breach of compliance with national and agency regulations to appropriate persons.
Perform optometric tests complying with protocol guidelines.
Labour conditions
Part-time position: 20h/week
Starting date: immediate
Gross annual salary: 18.500,00 euros
Duration: 1 year
Contract: Contract for technical and scientific activities related to the project and available positions
