Job purpose and scope
We are seeking an experiencedcountry manager to run ourMaersk Project LogisticsTeam inBilbao, Spain.This rolehasPnLresponsibility andfocusesondeveloping andmanagingouroperations inSpainwhile deliveringbest-in-class solutions andexceptional service to our project logistics customers.
You will be accountable forsolution design,operational delivery, team performance, and collaboration with commercial stakeholders tosupport and accelerate the sustainable growth of our MPL offering in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for the SpainMPLPnLandoperational performance. Responsible forsolution design and operational deliveryas well asreportingfinancial and operational metricsto management as part of performance cycles
2. Design,quote,manageandexecutecomplex, tailor-madeproject logisticssolutions, focusing on oversized cargo transportationacross multiple market segments
3. Collaborateclosely with Sales and Business Development togenerate leads andsupport customerwins with technical know-howandcompetitive, fit-for-purposesolution designand quotations.
4. Foster and maintain strong client relationships, consistently delivering excellence.
5. Oversee end-to-end project execution, including on-site supervision through your team where required.
6. Lead continuous improvementand operational excellenceinitiatives,implementing processesto drive efficiency, costleadershipand high-quality project execution across all assigned customer projects.
7. Build a dynamic, diversified andcompetitivevendornetworkto bring maximum control, efficiency and valuetomeet the requirements of the customer projects
8. Build a stable and scalable business inSpain and develop new operational capabilitiesin order tosupport the commercial growthambitionin Spain
9. Ensure adherence to MPL Standard Billing Cycle and Job Costing Policy andfacilitateBusiness Controlling and financial month end activities
10. Full responsibility for building, leading, and developing theMPLexecution and solution designteam inSpain, effectively and efficiently managing resources and workload distribution
11. Act as a role model for Maersk values, safety standards, and compliance requirements

12. 10+years ofstrong operational experienceinlocal and end-to-endproject coordination and executionwithin freight forwardingand/orproject logistics,managing over-dimensioned,out-of-gauge cargoorbreakbulk(sea and/or road)
13. A demonstratedexperience managingPnLand atrack record ofscaling revenue and profitability
14. Solid understanding of global trade and complex supply chain operations
15. Strong commercialmindset andunderstanding of customer service dynamics(prior experience in roles with direct customerexposureormanaging client relationshipsispreferred)
16. Proven leadership experience,with a focus on leading small,highly-engagedand high-performingteamsand developing talent
17. Self-starterand structuredwith a highly collaborative mindsetanda hands-on, “can-do” approach
18. Ability tocollaborateeffectively within a matrix organizationwith strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities
19. Excellent verbal and written communication skills inSpanishand English
20. Flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to travel as required
