Zurich Technology Delivery Center – Barcelona is a global tech hub of Zurich Insurance Group. We specialize in software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure to support Zurich's strategic goals and drive operational efficiency.
We are looking for a Product Engineer to join the Business Change & Engineering team. You will develop new insurance product propositions for a multi‑year transformation program across European Commercial Insurance markets.
The Business Change & Engineering team drives business transformation through standardization, simplification and automation of processes. You will work with Underwriting, Pricing, IT and the wider program team to turn strategy into scalable solutions.

What to Expect
In this role you will contribute to protecting complex international and domestic businesses for our customers and participate in product development and implementation within our European Commercial Insurance markets.
Key responsibilities include working with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain new insurance products, gathering feedback from customers and stakeholders, facilitating change management, and collaborating to prioritise and execute initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Product Development and Enhancement: design, develop, test, and maintain new insurance products;
model products with underwriting using tools such as Xmind.
- Gather and assess feedback from Underwriting, Sales, Claims to define requirements and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate change management for new products, focusing on intelligent design and simplification.
- Collaborate with product and pricing teams to prioritise, plan, and execute initiatives;
evaluate usability and readiness for implementation.
- Technical and Strategic Contributions: develop structured product models for the Lower Middle Market segment;
configure products using Xmind and Advanced Product Designer with Guidewire as the technology suite;
analyze competitors’ products and pricing strategies and stay current on industry trends and markets.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years in Product Development OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with strong Product Development experience
- Knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance underwriting
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, practices, and governance
Preferred:
- 3–5 years in Product Development
- Understanding of sales and distribution channels (agents, brokers, facilities, MGAs, affinity partners)
- Knowledge of insurance software packages (Guidewire) and experience with Xmind and Guidewire APD
- Strong collaboration, communication, project management, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in change management
