SR2 has recently started supporting an international IPP who are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects (20MW+) across Spain.
You will take full ownership from late-stage development through construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing renewables platform, operating at the forefront of Spain's energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end execution of Solar PV and BESS projects from Ready-to-Build (RtB) through to CODManage EPC contractors, technical advisors, and key suppliersOversee project scheduling, budgeting, and risk managementCoordinate with internal teams across development, grid, engineering, finance, and asset managementEnsure compliance with Spanish regulatory, permitting, and grid connection requirementsManage grid connection and energisation processes in collaboration with utilities and TSOs/DSOsMonitor construction progress, conduct site visits, and ensure adherence to HSE standardsLead stakeholder engagement, including local authorities, landowners, and partnersDrive resolution of technical and commercial issues during executionSupport handover to O&M/Asset Management teams
Requirements:
Proven experience managing utility-scale Solar PV projects (20MW+) in SpainExperience with BESS projects (design, integration, or delivery) highly desirableStrong understanding of EPC contracts (FIDIC or similar)Knowledge of Spanish grid connection processes and regulatory frameworksExperience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teamsEngineering degree (Electrical, Civil, or related field preferred)Fluent Spanish and English (essential)Willingness to travel across project sites xiphteb in Spain
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with IPP, developer, or EPC environmentsFamiliarity with energy storage integration, hybrid plants, or co-location strategiesStrong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experiencePMP or equivalent project management certification
