JOIN THE TEAM
As a senior data scientist, you will oversee the entire data science model lifecycle, including data analysis, model development, training, and deployment on cloud platforms. You will collaborate with business partners to extract insights that inform strategic decisions, support data projects from conception to deployment, and provide ongoing operational support. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and data pipelines from ideation to deployment.
2. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
3. Analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights for data-driven decision-making.
4. Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers in a dynamic environment.
5. Implement systems utilizing Generative AI and architectures like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
6. Communicate complex data science concepts effectively through technical discussions and presentations.
7. Stay current with advancements in AI and Data Science, applying new techniques to improve solutions.
8. Contribute to the BASF Analytics AI Community by sharing knowledge and insights.
QUALIFICATIONS
* PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field with at least 3 years of industry experience, or
* Master's degree in the same fields with at least 5 years of industry experience.
Required skills include proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn; experience with deep learning architectures (Auto Encoders, CNNs, GANs, Transformers); cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks); container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker); expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and RAG; predictive analytics; and strong communication skills. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
