Role Description
This is a full-time on site role for a Battery Systems Lead, based in Seville, with flexibility for some remote work. The Battery Systems Lead will oversee the design, development, and integration of battery systems for electric aviation applications. Key responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary teams, managing battery performance analysis and testing, troubleshooting system-level issues, and ensuring compliance with aviation standards. Collaboration with R&D;, engineering teams, and external partners is essential.
REQUIREMENTS
- DegreeinElectricalEngineering(or related degrees, like Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering)
- At least5years of experience inbattery systems development for Electric Vehicles.
- Deep technical knowledge of batteries
- Experience with broad array of engineering tools / languages includingMatLab, Simulink,SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX,ANSYS,C++, Python, etc
- Experience with battery design, assembly process and qualityand safetyrequirements.
- Experience with battery integration and package design. Knowledge of BMS and energy controls
- Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others
- Any experience with battery systems for aviation will be highly regarded
- Experience with rapid prototyping of electrical systems and early industrialization
- Experience leading technical teams
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define therequirements and specifications for the modular battery pack system.
- Define the safety standards for battery systems certificationand coordinate the battery system design and testing.
- Developmechanical and/orelectrical concepts of aviation battery system as main energy source for propulsion
- Work and coordinate the activities with cells and battery suppliers to define the battery pack system requirements.
- Responsible of the supplier evaluation of multiple batteries and/or active materials from different vendors.
- Work with internal and external teams,customersand suppliers, to managerequirementsplan, systemvalidationand verification.
- Support the validation and verification plans execution for DO-178, DO-254, andCASA and EASAregulatory compliance
- Review compliance of design to specifications and requirements, review conformance of project documents to requirements
- Manage the requirements change process,identifyingcustomers’ priorities and recording conflicts between individual requirements
- Be involved in thePowerplant architecture design
- SupportSystem design and build of rig for ground testing integrating SIL and HIL
- Coordinate and manage the work of technical reports
- Contribute to early product industrialization
