Upsilon General are exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing CRO in their search for a Business Development Manager.

Our CRO partner combines senior-level involvement, operational agility, and scientific depth with a pragmatic, partner-driven approach.

Irrespective of their substantial reach and remarkable success, this CRO maintains its original values of “customer”, “quality” and “success”. Our CRO partner combines the knowledge and experience of medical, biostatistics, regulatory and clinical operations experts, to effectively conduct the end-to-end clinical research processes their clients require.

As such, this CRO is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Business Development Manager to advise, consult and deliver across key target regions as they continue to strive for greatness across Western EU and America

Main responsibilities:

- Drive new business acquisition across Europe (with selective global reach), focusing on pharma, biotech, and innovation-driven sponsors
- Selling full-service CRO experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in Clinical Operations, Development, Outsourcing, and Scientific Leadership
- Own the full BD lifecycle: lead generation, qualification, proposal development, bid defence, and deal closure
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Operations, Imaging, and Scientific teams to ensure accurate, competitive proposals
- Manage key contractual documents and processes with clients, partners and vendors (CDA’s, MSA’s, WO’s and CO’s).
- Contact prospective customer / partner companies to further explore business opportunities and manage negotiations.

Skills and Experience Required:

- 2 – 3 years of Senior experience in business development or sales within a CRO, or related life‑sciences services environment
- Solid understanding of clinical development and CRO outsourcing models
- Proven ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles and close complex service deals
- Strong network or demonstrated ability to build relationships within European pharma and biotech
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on execution discipline
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, growth‑stage organization
- Fluency in English (additional European languages are a strong plus)
- Experience in areas such as oncology, rare diseases, imaging, nuclear medicine, advanced diagnostics, or complex trial designs will be considered an advantage
- A key commercial role in a fast‑growing boutique CRO with strong differentiation
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and influence on company strategy
