About the job: Ready to come to the USA? Join Don Julio Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar in Orlando, Florida. Don Julio, an authentic Mexican restaurant with recipes passed down through three generations, is searching for passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic, and proactive aspiring chefs worldwide to bring the flavors of Mexico to life while experiencing a professional and cultural journey in the United States.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparing all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
* Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
* Restocking items during shifts.
* Maintaining cleanliness and safety at the station.
* Using and maintaining equipment properly.
* Assisting with kitchen sanitation and organization.
* Performing additional duties as requested.
* Preparing various food items including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold foods.
* Properly storing and dating food prep items.
* Following safety and usage instructions for food prep tools.
* Closing the kitchen according to protocols.
Estimated monthly budget:
* Projected income: $2,240 (Hourly: $14)
* Housing/transportation costs: $900 (Employer provides housing options for $700)
* Meals during work hours included
J1 Visa Program:
This traineeship is part of a J1 visa program for young professionals or recent graduates to gain work experience and cultural exchange. The application fees total $1,870, broken down as follows:
* $420 due upon signing (non-refundable)
* $1,450 due upon visa approval (includes health insurance)
Note: The first month’s housing must be paid in advance. Airfare is not covered and varies by departure city.
