Job Description
Manage all aspects of feasibility studies and/or live projects. Responsible for leading cross-functional project teams, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery within scope and on time. Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, create project plans, allocate resources, track progress, manage risks, and communicate updates. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with proven experience managing complex projects from initiation to closure. Deep understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques is essential. The Project Manager will drive efficiency, quality, and collaboration across the organization.
The candidate should also have proven knowledge and experience in Carbon Capture Projects or Oil and Gas related projects.
Main Responsibilities
* Project Planning and Scope Definition: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies.
* Resource Allocation and Team Leadership: Allocate resources effectively and lead cross-functional teams. Provide guidance, motivation, and ensure understanding of project goals and roles.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Develop contingency plans and review risk assessments regularly.
* Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets, track expenses, and collaborate with finance teams for accurate financial reporting.
* Stakeholder Communication: Establish communication channels, provide regular updates, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
* Project Monitoring and Reporting: Track performance against metrics, prepare status reports, and highlight issues and solutions.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards through reviews and process adjustments.
* Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulations and ensure project activities comply with environmental, safety, and legal standards.
* Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate project documentation including plans, contracts, and communication records.
* Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-project assessments to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
* Willing to travel worldwide.
* Ability to navigate challenges and adapt to changing circumstances during CCUS projects, developing creative solutions.
* Define, hire, coordinate, and manage multifunctional and multicultural technical resources for all project stages.
* Evaluate resources, infrastructure, and technical capabilities of local and international engineering and construction companies to select optimal solutions aligning with CEMEX CAPEX objectives.
Position Requirements
* Bachelor and Master degrees, preferably in sciences, engineering, or Project Management.
* Study areas: Chemical engineering (preferred), environmental, Mechanical, Civil Engineering. Certifications: PMI, APM, Prince2, Chartered PM.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Document control software, Primavera, MS Project.
* Languages: Advanced English and Spanish; German desirable.
* Experience: 8+ years in project management related to industrial plants, preferably Oil & Gas; 5+ years in construction of industrial plants, CCUS or Oil & Gas related; 5+ years in engineering processes for industrial plants.
* Knowledge of oil and gas industries, CCUS technologies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
* General knowledge of cement, ready-mix, and aggregate equipment is a plus.
* Understanding of project development phases from pre-FEED to commissioning.
* Knowledge of project costing principles such as AACE.
* Experience with EPC and other contract strategies.
* Proven track record managing large, complex projects.
* Familiarity with PMI project management practices.
