About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead global commercial strategy, partnerships, and revenue growth for a fast-scaling SaaS organisation operating at the forefront of AI-driven drug discovery, antibody engineering, and advanced bioinformatics.
The platform is deeply embedded within the R&D ecosystems of leading pharmaceutical organisations, including collaborations with multiple top 5 global pharma companies, supporting next-generation biologics discovery, sequencing analysis, and computational biology workflows.
This is a senior executive role requiring a proven leader who has successfully scaled AI-enabled life sciences or computational biology SaaS platforms within highly technical, enterprise-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute the global commercial strategy across pharma, biotech, and research markets
* Own revenue generation, strategic partnerships, and long-term enterprise account growth
* Lead and scale global business development, sales, and partnership teams
* Build and maintain senior-level relationships across top-tier pharmaceutical organisations
* Drive adoption of AI-powered antibody discovery and sequencing bioinformatics solutions
* Shape go-to-market strategy for complex, science-led SaaS offerings
* Partner closely with scientific, product, and data science teams to align commercial strategy with platform capabilities
* Represent the organisation at senior industry forums, conferences, and partner engagements globally
* Establish scalable commercial frameworks to support rapid international expansion
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in AI-driven drug discovery platforms, ideally within antibody discovery, biologics, or computational biology
* Strong background in bioinformatics, DNA/RNA sequencing technologies, or data-driven life sciences platforms
* Track record of scaling enterprise SaaS businesses in pharma/biotech markets
* Deep understanding of complex, long-cycle pharmaceutical sales and partnership models
* Established global network across pharma, biotech, and computational biology ecosystems
* Demonstrated success engaging with top-tier pharmaceutical organisations (Top 10 global pharma exposure essential)
* Experience operating at executive level (CBO, Chief Commercial Officer, SVP Commercial or equivalent)
* Strong leadership capability in building and scaling international teams
Location & Travel Requirements
* Role is based in the Netherlands
* Candidates must either relocate or maintain a minimum of one week per month presence in-country
* Significant international travel required, particularly to Switzerland and the United States, due to strategic client and partner relationships
