The Regional Key Account Manager for the Madrid area will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Affinity's commercial strategy for clients in the region. You will manage key accounts, build long-term relationships, and exploit the development potential of the Petfood category to maximize sales of our brands.
We seek candidates with experience in key account management, driven and energetic to exceed objectives, acting as a Category Captain to develop the Petfood category. The role requires strategic vision, interpersonal skills, a growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and ownership.
What you will do
* Develop and execute account plans aligned with company objectives.
* Negotiate commercial agreements, sales conditions, promotions, and marketing plans with key accounts.
* Monitor KPIs such as sell-in/sell-out, market share, and promotional activities, identifying improvement opportunities.
* Manage the full P&L of clients.
* Partner with clients for category development: Category Management, Perfect Store, JBPs.
* Establish and maintain trusting relationships with key contacts within accounts.
* Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
* Present new products and strategies to generate sales and add value.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Trade Marketing on promotional plans and POS activities.
* Develop and monitor sales forecasts for key accounts.
* Coordinate with departments like Logistics, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure plan execution and satisfaction.
* Communicate account needs to the organization effectively.
What we are looking for
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or similar; postgraduate or Master's preferred.
* 3-5 years of proven experience in key account management within FMCG sector, including Trade Marketing and Field experience.
* Residency in Madrid/Central Region preferred; open to Barcelona or other locations.
* Knowledge in:
o FMCG channel in Spain
o Negotiating with large accounts
o Trade Marketing and POS management
o KPIs in the sector
o Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Results-driven, proactive, autonomous, with strategic thinking and relationship-building skills.
* Languages: Native/bilingual Spanish, fluent English.
* Willingness to travel nationally and/or regionally; B driving license.
