This world-leading, top 5 FMCG company is seeking a Commodity Price Risk Management Trading Analyst to join their Global Commodity Price & Risk Management (CPRM) / Commodity Risk Management (CRM) team. The role involves helping to limit the company’s exposure to price volatility in Soft Commodities such as Sugar, Cocoa, and Dairy.
Based at their Global Commodity Risk Management HQ in Barcelona, you will work closely with an experienced Commodity Risk Management Trading Manager, supporting in:
* Providing market research and analysis of physical and derivative products
* Running frequent price and volatility forecasts
* Implementing hedging strategies using listed derivatives, OTC products, or proxy hedges, in accordance with internal policies and hedge accounting principles
* Managing a global commodity spend of over €1.5 billion as an Assistant Manager
Your role is to assist the Global Commodity Risk Management Trading Manager in managing exposure to surges in Sugar, Cocoa, and Dairy prices. This is not a procurement or cost-saving role but focuses on managing price volatility through long-term strategic agreements to lock in prices and ensure price certainty for the business.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a bright Junior Commodity Trading Analyst to develop a long-term career in Commodity Price Risk Management, with opportunities for international relocation if desired.
* Key skills & experience sought: An exceptionally bright and numerate analyst with advanced fundamental research and analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel (analysis and reports) and PowerPoint.
* At least 2 years of commercial experience in a Commodity Risk Analyst or similar Commodity Price Risk Management role.
* A strong academic background, including a numerate Bachelor's degree and ideally a Master's degree from a leading university, with excellent analytical skills.
* EU passport holder or valid visa allowing work in Spain (Barcelona), as the client will not sponsor visas.
