Our work involves building tissues in vitro and in silico, combining approaches like gene circuits, tissue engineering, omics, 3D imaging, and computer modeling. We aim to understand tissues through imaging and omics data, with EMBL actively innovating in data integration and FAIR principles.Position Overview
We seek a Data Scientist to develop workflows for integrated imaging and omics data analysis, supporting data management, FAIRification, and training. The role is based in Barcelona but involves collaboration across EMBL sites, with occasional travel.Responsibilities
Develop pipelines for managing and analyzing imaging data.Create platforms for integrating imaging with omics data, such as spatial omics.Ensure data handling adheres to FAIR principles.Train research staff in data management and analysis.Facilitate data flow between EMBL and external collaborators.Explore new methods and technologies in image analysis.Candidate Profile
We seek a team-oriented individual with experience in image analysis, bioinformatics, and data management, proficient in Python, R, or Julia, and familiar with open-source image analysis tools. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. Knowledge of omics data and FAIR principles is a plus.Additional Assets
Understanding of genomics data, experience with databases, image data formats, and a multidisciplinary background are advantageous.Application Details
